'New Poster Art' Book

For my initial research, I looked at a book concerning 'New Poster Art', which looked at the styles of more recent posters. The book did not say much about film posters, although there were quite a a few symbolic images that I thought were interesting and one of the writers, Jelle van der Toorn Vrijthoff, commented in the book that "the poster has now become a test of artistic skill rather than an advertisement". This got me thinking about how I could get my designs to be eye-catching in the artistic sense.
